- 1 1/4 cups water
- 1 cup white basmati rice, rinsed well
- 1/2 cup coconut milk
- 1/2 teaspoon turmeric
- 1/4 teaspoon salt (or to taste)
- 1 piece cinnamon stick (1 1/2 inches)
- 1/4 cup currants or 1/4 cup raisins
- 1 dried chili
Step 1: In a saucepan, add water; bring to a boil.
Step 2: Add the rice and remaining ingredients; stir to combine.

Step 5: Remove cinnamon stick and dried chili.
