Classic Deviled Eggs


  • 12 large eggs
  • 4 tablespoons mayonnaise
  • 3 tablespoons sweet pickle relish
  • 2 teaspoons mustard
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • Dash of pepper
  • Paprika, for garnish

Cooking Instructions

Step 1: Place eggs in a single layer in a saucepan.  Add water to a depth of 3 inches, enough to just cover the eggs.  Bring to a boil; cover, remove from heat, and let stand 15 minutes.

Step 2: After the 15 minutes, immediately drain and fill the saucepan with cold water and ice.

Step 3: Firmly tap each egg on the counter until cracks form all over the shell.  Peel under cold running water.

Step 4: Cut eggs in half lengthwise, and carefully remove yolks.  Mash yolks with mayonnaise.  Add mustard, relish, salt, and pepper.  Stir well.

Step 5: Spoon egg yolk mixture into egg whites.  Dust with paprika before serving, if desired.
